Antihypertensive Drugs
Why this applies to Eprosartan
Eprosartan falls under Antihypertensive Drugs — the group Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: eprosartan (Teveten) relaxes your blood vessels to bring your blood pressure down. The beetroot in these chews delivers nitrates that your body turns into nitric oxide, which also widens blood vessels a bit. So you've got two things nudging your pressure in the same direction. They don't fight over the same liver enzymes, so this isn't about your eprosartan building up or wearing off. It's just a small overlap in effect.
In real life, the extra dip is usually minor and brief, but you might notice more dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when you stand up quickly. If you'd like to try these chews, that's a fine conversation to have with your pharmacist or doctor first, and rising slowly from a chair helps.

This page covers Humann Superbeets Heart Chews only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Eprosartan page lists 138 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), American Hellebore (major), American Mistletoe (major), Tyramine (major) and Adrafinil (moderate).
By severity: 4 major · 112 moderate · 22 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Eprosartan page
“Activated charcoal deserves the first look from anyone taking eprosartan (Teveten) for blood pressure, because it can soak up the medicine in the gut and leave less of your dose to do its job. It is one of four major-rated entries among the 138 supplements and herbs on this page, enough to warrant real wariness rather than a shrug.”

About Eprosartan
What Is Eprosartan Used For?
Brand name: Teveten
-
Eprosartan is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Eprosartan is in a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.
-
High blood pressure is a common condition, and when not treated it can cause damage to the brain, heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of the body. Damage to these organs may cause heart disease, a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, loss of vision, and other problems. In addition to taking medication, making lifestyle changes will also help to control your blood pressure. These changes include eating a diet that is low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising at least 30 minutes most days, not smoking, and using alcohol in moderation.
