Humann Superbeets Heart Chews and Tramadol, Acetaminophen

These two interact in 4 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.

Why Are There 4 Interactions?

Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with whole categories of medication. Tramadol, Acetaminophen falls into 4 of those categories, so it can interact with Humann Superbeets Heart Chews in 4 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).

Minor

Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates

1 of 4

Why this applies to Tramadol, Acetaminophen

Tramadol, Acetaminophen falls under Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates — the group Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with.

Each serving of HumanN SuperBeets includes 150mg of grape seed extract (2 chews). Laboratory studies suggest that grape seed extract might have inhibitory effects on the CYP2D6 metabolizing enzyme. If this enzyme is inhibited, drugs metabolized by it may undergo slower metabolism, potentially leading to (in many cases) higher-than-normal drug levels. Elevated drug levels can increase the risk of experiencing side effects. However, it's crucial to highlight that, as of now, there is no documented or reported instance of this specific interaction occurring in human studies.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo. The grape seed extract in SuperBeets Heart Chews might mildly slow down an enzyme called CYP2D6 in lab studies. Tramadol is a bit unusual because it's actually a prodrug. Your body uses CYP2D6 to turn tramadol into its stronger active form, the part that does most of the pain relieving. So if that enzyme is blocked, you could theoretically get less pain relief from the tramadol, not more. The acetaminophen part isn't really affected here.

That said, this concern comes only from test-tube research, with no real cases reported in people, and the chews contain a small amount of grape seed extract. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if your pain control seems off, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

Minor

Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

2 of 4

Tramadol, Acetaminophen also falls under Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates.

Each serving of HumanN SuperBeets includes 150mg of grape seed extract (2 chews). Laboratory studies suggest that grape seed extract might have inhibitory effects on the CYP3A4 metabolizing enzyme. If this enzyme is inhibited, drugs metabolized by it may undergo slower metabolism, potentially leading to (in many cases) higher-than-normal drug levels. Elevated drug levels can increase the risk of experiencing side effects. However, it's important to point out that there is no documented or reported instance of this specific interaction occurring in human studies.

Here's the gist with Tramacet (tramadol plus acetaminophen) and these beet chews. The grape seed extract in SuperBeets may, in lab studies only, slightly slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which helps break down tramadol. In theory, slower breakdown could let a bit more tramadol linger in your system. With tramadol that might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, or constipation. The acetaminophen part isn't really affected here.

But keep this in perspective. This is a minor, unlikely interaction seen only in test tubes, never reported in real people. For most folks it won't cause trouble. Still, since tramadol can be sedating, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Minor

Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates

Here's the gist with SuperBeets Heart Chews and Tramacet (tramadol plus acetaminophen). The grape seed extract in these chews has shown, in lab dish studies only, a mild ability to slow down an enzyme called CYP2E1. That same enzyme plays a small role in handling acetaminophen. In theory, slowing it could nudge drug levels up a bit and add to side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, or constipation.

Honestly though, this is a very weak, theoretical concern. There are no real human reports of this combination causing problems, and the amount of grape seed extract here is small. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you take Tramacet regularly or have liver concerns, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first just to be safe.

Here's the short version: the grape seed extract in SuperBeets Heart Chews may, in lab studies, gently slow down an enzyme called CYP2E1. The acetaminophen (Tylenol) part of your Tramacet uses that pathway a little. In theory, slowing it could nudge acetaminophen levels up slightly. The reassuring news is that this has never actually been reported in real people, and the evidence is very weak.

If anything did happen, it would likely be mild, things like a bit more drowsiness or feeling washed out. There's no need to panic over this combination. Still, since both products affect your body and you're on a prescription pain med, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding the chews, especially because they can also lower blood pressure.

What These Ratings Mean

Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.

Severity how clinically significant the interaction is

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tramadol, Acetaminophen page

“The combinations I worry about most with tramadol and acetaminophen (Tramacet) involve anything that deepens drowsiness or strains the liver. Tramadol is an opioid, so sedating supplements like kava, along with alcohol in any form, can slow breathing on top of adding sleepiness, which is why this list deserves genuine care rather than…”
