Teczem combines two blood pressure medicines: diltiazem and enalapril. The diltiazem part is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The piperine in Indian long pepper can slow that enzyme down in lab studies, so in theory it could let more diltiazem build up in your blood than usual.

If that happened, you might feel diltiazem's effects more strongly, things like extra dizziness, a slower or pounding heartbeat, swollen ankles, or blood pressure dropping too low. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, and a sprinkle of pepper in food is unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplement doses are the bigger question. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before taking it regularly, and don't change your medication on your own.

Teczem combines diltiazem (a calcium channel blocker for blood pressure) with enalapril. Here's the idea behind this interaction: piperine, the active part of Indian long pepper, may block a transporter called P-glycoprotein that helps move drugs out of your body. If that pump slows down, a little more diltiazem could stay in your bloodstream.

I want to be honest with you though, this is only a theoretical concern based on lab (test tube) studies, not real patients. If it did happen, you might notice more of diltiazem's usual effects, like a slower heartbeat, dizziness, or feeling lightheaded. A sprinkle of this spice in food likely won't matter. Concentrated supplements taken daily are worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor.
