This combination product contains amobarbital, a barbiturate that calms the brain and makes you sleepy. L-tryptophan can add to that sleepiness because your body turns it into serotonin and then melatonin, which naturally nudge you toward drowsiness. Put the two together and the sedating effects can stack up, so you may feel groggier, more tired, dizzy, or have trouble staying alert. With barbiturates, heavier sedation is something to take seriously.

The ephedrine part is a stimulant that works the opposite way, so the picture here is mostly about that extra layer of drowsiness from the amobarbital. This concern is partly theoretical but backed by real reports that tryptophan causes fatigue. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.
