Manna contains mannitol, which acts as an osmotic laxative. Overuse of manna might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss, increasing the risk of hypokalemia.

Here's the thing to keep in mind if you pair manna with torsemide. Torsemide is a loop diuretic, so part of its normal job is flushing out water and salt, including potassium, through your urine. Manna works as a gentle laxative because the mannitol in it pulls water into your gut, and that can also carry away some potassium in the stool.

So the worry is that the two together could lower your potassium more than torsemide alone. Low potassium (hypokalemia) can show up as muscle cramps, weakness, tiredness, or an irregular heartbeat. This is a theoretical concern based on how each one works, not from strong studies, and it's most likely only if you overuse manna. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, since they may already be watching your potassium.

What Is Torsemide Used For?

Torsemide tablets are used to treat edema — excess fluid buildup causing swelling — associated with heart failure, renal disease, or hepatic disease. Removing that extra fluid can relieve swelling and make breathing easier.

Torsemide tablets are also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.
