These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Methylsynephrine interacts with whole categories of medication. Ephedrine Sulfate (prescription drug) falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Methylsynephrine in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
STIMULANT DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Ephedrine Sulfate (prescription drug)
Ephedrine Sulfate (prescription drug) falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Methylsynephrine interacts with.
Some stimulant drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, diethylpropion (Tenuate), methylphenidate, phentermine (Ionamin), pseudoephedrine (Sudafed, others), and many others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both of these act like adrenaline. Prescription ephedrine already revs up your heart and raises your blood pressure, and methylsynephrine works in the very same stimulant way. Stack them together and you're essentially doubling down on that 'fight or flight' push.
What could that look like in real life? A racing or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, headache, chest discomfort, or feeling anxious and wired. To be fair, this warning is theoretical, based on how both drugs work rather than firm studies. But methylsynephrine isn't an approved or safe ingredient to begin with, so I'd steer clear of combining it with ephedrine. Please run any combination past your pharmacist or doctor first.

BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS
2 of 2Ephedrine Sulfate (prescription drug) also falls under BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both of these are stimulants that rev up your heart and blood vessels. Prescription ephedrine sulfate already pushes your heart to beat harder and faster and bumps up blood pressure. Methylsynephrine works in much the same way, so stacking them together can pile those effects on top of each other.
What that could feel like is a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, anxiety, headache, and a spike in blood pressure. In some people that adds up to real heart strain. To be fair, this warning is theoretical, based on how the two drugs work rather than hard studies. But methylsynephrine isn't an approved supplement here and has its own heart risks, so I'd steer clear of it and check with your doctor or pharmacist first.

About Methylsynephrine
What is Methylsynephrine?
- Weight loss and fat burning
- Boosting energy
- Athletic and workout performance
- Appetite control
Methylsynephrine (also called oxilofrine) is a synthetic stimulant sometimes added to weight-loss and pre-workout products, but it is not a legal or approved dietary ingredient in the United States. It has been linked to serious heart and blood pressure problems, and there is no good evidence it is safe or effective for these uses, so it is best avoided.
