Motherwort + Dupilumab
Dupilumab brand name: Dupixent.
We found no known interaction between Motherwort and Dupilumab in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Motherwort and Dupilumab
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Dupilumab and Motherwort in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Dupilumab Is Prescribed For, and What Motherwort Has Been Studied For
These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Dupilumab is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Motherwort is a supplement: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.
Dupilumab is prescribed for: Dupixent (dupilumab) injection is approved for a wide range of inflammatory conditions driven by overactive immune signaling. It treats moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in patients as young as 6 months old when topical prescription therapies haven't worked or aren't appropriate. It is also used as an add-on maintenance treatment for moderate-to-severe asthma (in patients 6 years and older with a certain immune profile or who depend on oral steroids), chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (in patients 12 and older), and COPD with an eosinophilic phenotype in adults. Additionally, Dupixent treats eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE, an inflammatory condition of the esophagus) in patients 1 year and older weighing at least 15 kg, prurigo nodularis (a skin condition with itchy nodules) in adults, chronic spontaneous urticaria (ongoing hives not caused by a known trigger) in patients 2 and older who still have symptoms on antihistamines, bullous pemphigoid (a blistering skin disease) in adults, and allergic fungal rhinosinusitis in patients 6 and older with a history of sinus surgery.

Motherwort for asthma
Although there has been interest in using oral motherwort for asthma, there is insufficient reliable information about the clinical effects of motherwort for this purpose.
Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Dupilumab on your own; if you are taking Motherwort for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.
Questions About Motherwort or Dupilumab
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Motherwort or Dupilumab, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions.
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Motherwort reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified October 4, 2026. The Motherwort and Dupilumab records this page draws on were last updated July 11, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Motherwort
What is Motherwort?
- Anxiety and stress
- Heart palpitations
- Menstrual discomfort
- Menopausal symptoms
- Insomnia
Motherwort is a traditional herb in the mint family long used for anxiety, heart palpitations, and women's reproductive complaints, but solid human evidence is very limited. It should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and anyone with a heart condition or taking heart or blood-thinning medicines should talk to a doctor or pharmacist before using it.
Leonurus cardiaca · Lamiaceae · Aerial parts (leaves, stems, and flowering tops) · Tea, tincture, liquid extract, capsules, dried herb
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Motherwort is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Motherwort record says about it on its own.
Motherwort: dosing
There is no well-established standard dose for motherwort. Traditional preparations include teas made from the dried herb and liquid tinctures or extracts, and products vary widely in strength.Because doses are not standardized and product quality differs, the safest approach is to follow the directions on the specific product label and not exceed the suggested amount.
