Here's the simple version. Oxycodone is a strong opioid painkiller, and one of its main effects is slowing down your central nervous system. That's what makes you drowsy and relaxed, but it can also slow your breathing. Motherwort has been reported to have its own mild calming, sedating effect. So when you combine the two, the worry is that those sedating effects could stack up.

I want to be honest about the strength of this concern. This is a theoretical interaction based on how each one acts, not from strong human studies, so it may not be a big deal for everyone. Still, with an opioid, I play it safe. If you notice extra drowsiness, foggy thinking, or slowed breathing, that's a red flag. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before pairing them.
