Here's the simple version: temazepam already works by calming brain activity to help you sleep. Motherwort has been reported to cause some sedation of its own. So putting the two together could, in theory, add up and make you more drowsy than expected. With temazepam that might mean deeper grogginess, dizziness, trouble waking up, or feeling foggy and unsteady the next morning.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This concern is theoretical, based on how each one behaves rather than strong human studies. It's not about motherwort changing how your body breaks temazepam down. Still, since both can lower alertness, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you're older or take other sleep or anxiety medicines.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
