Here's the simple version: Tussionex already has two ingredients that can make you drowsy. Hydrocodone is an opioid, and chlorpheniramine is a sedating antihistamine, so this combo tends to slow your brain down quite a bit on its own. Motherwort has been reported to add its own mild calming, sedative effect on top of that.

Stacked together, you could feel extra sleepy, foggy, dizzy, or slow to react, and in larger amounts that could mean slower, shallower breathing. To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not strong human proof, so it may be mild for many people. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't drive until you know how you feel.
