Aspirin, Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Phellodendron interacts with.

Theoretically, phellodendron might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Phellodendron contains berberine. In vitro and in vivo research suggest that berberine can inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, phellodendron might also inhibit platelet aggregation.

Here's the simple version. That Alka-Seltzer product contains aspirin, which already thins your blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping together. Phellodendron contains berberine, and in lab and animal studies berberine seems to do something similar. Stack the two and, in theory, you could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.

What might that look like in real life? Easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that takes longer to stop. I want to be straight with you, though: this concern comes from test tube and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, before pairing these, run it past your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you take aspirin daily or have any bleeding issues.
