Here's the thing to understand: phenpromethamine is itself a stimulant, chemically in the same family as amphetamine-type drugs. So if you took your prescription amphetamine (like Dyanavel XR, Mydayis, or Adzenys) alongside a product secretly containing phenpromethamine, you'd essentially be stacking two stimulants on top of each other. The worry is that their effects add up, which could push your heart rate and blood pressure higher and raise the risk of side effects like a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, anxiety, trouble sleeping, or chest discomfort.

I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based on how these drugs work, not on strong human studies. Still, phenpromethamine isn't an approved or legitimate supplement ingredient, so I'd steer clear of any product listing it. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Amphetamine Used For?

Brand names: Dyanavel XR, Adensys XR-ODT, Mydayis, Adzenys ER

Amphetamine treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years and older. Adzenys XR-ODT, Dyanavel XR, and the amphetamine extended-release orally disintegrating tablet formulations are specifically approved for ADHD in this age group.

Amphetamine Sulfate tablets and Evekeo (amphetamine sulfate tablets) are also approved for narcolepsy (a sleep disorder causing uncontrollable daytime sleepiness) and as a short-term aid in a calorie-restricted weight-loss program for exogenous obesity (weight gain from external factors like overeating) in patients who have not responded to other approaches.
