Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Oxazepam
Oxazepam falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Poria Mushroom interacts with.
Animal research shows that poria mushroom extract has sedative properties. This interaction has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Oxazepam (Serax) is a benzodiazepine that calms the brain, so it naturally causes drowsiness, slower thinking, and relaxed muscles. The concern with Poria mushroom is that it may have its own mild sedative or calming action, so stacking the two together could add up and leave you feeling extra sleepy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet.
I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. This interaction has only been seen in animal studies, not in people, and it's based on theory rather than real cases. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Poria, especially if your oxazepam already makes you tired.

“The single biggest hazard with oxazepam (Serax), a benzodiazepine prescribed for anxiety and alcohol withdrawal, is stacked sedation, and this is a list to treat with genuine respect. Nearly two thirds of the supplements and foods on this page add their own drowsiness on top of the drug's, and the worst of them can depress breathing it…”

Poria mushroom (Fu Ling) is a fungus long used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, mainly as a mild diuretic and digestive and calming aid. Modern scientific evidence in humans is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered well tolerated, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data.
About Oxazepam
