Here's the key concern: both GHB and oxazepam (Serax) slow down your central nervous system. Oxazepam is a benzodiazepine that quiets brain activity to ease anxiety, and GHB is a powerful brain depressant in its own right. Stack the two and their calming effects pile on top of each other. That can mean deep drowsiness, confusion, slurred speech, slowed or shallow breathing, and in a worst case, losing consciousness or stopping breathing.

This pairing is rated major, even though the evidence is mostly anecdotal. I want to be plain with you: street GHB is dangerous and unpredictable, and combining it with oxazepam can be life-threatening. Please don't mix them, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist about anything you're taking.

Theoretically, GHB may reduce the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
GHB has been reported to cause seizures, and may theoretically reduce the effectiveness of anticonvulsants. Also, concomitant use of GHB with sedative anticonvulsants may increase the risk of serious CNS and respiratory depression.

Here's the big-picture concern with this pair. Oxazepam (Serax) and GHB are both heavy-duty brain depressants. Oxazepam is a benzodiazepine that calms nerve activity, and GHB does much the same thing through its own pathways. Stack them together and those calming effects can pile up fast, which can mean extreme drowsiness, confusion, very slow or shallow breathing, and in a worst case, loss of consciousness or breathing that stops. That's a genuinely dangerous combination.

I'll be straight with you: real, non-prescription GHB isn't a safe supplement at all. It's a controlled substance that can cause coma and death on its own, let alone mixed with a sedative. Please don't combine these, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before changing anything.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.

Oxazepam capsules are used to manage anxiety disorders and for short-term relief of anxiety symptoms. They are also helpful for anxiety that occurs alongside depression.

Oxazepam is particularly useful for older adults experiencing anxiety, tension, agitation, or irritability. It is also used for people going through alcohol withdrawal who have tremors, agitation, or anxiety.
