Quercetin can modestly decrease blood pressure in people with mild hypertension. Theoretically, it might have additive blood pressure lowering effects when used with antihypertensive drugs.

Here's the gist for Ventavis (iloprost). This inhaled medicine is a vasodilator, meaning it relaxes and widens your blood vessels to lower the pressure in your lungs. Quercetin, in concentrated supplement doses, may nudge your blood pressure down a little on its own. Put the two together and those blood-pressure-lowering effects could stack up.

What that might feel like is more dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, or a flushed, faint feeling, especially when you stand up. I want to be straight with you though: this is mostly a theoretical concern, and quercetin's blood pressure effect is modest. Everyday amounts in food (apples, onions, berries) are very unlikely to matter. If you're considering a high-dose supplement, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
