ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Effient
Effient falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Red Raspberry interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that red raspberry leaf extract has antiplatelet activity and enhances the in vitro effects of the antiplatelet medication cangrelor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Effient (prasugrel) already does a strong job of keeping your platelets from sticking together so you don't form dangerous clots. Red raspberry leaf may have a mild blood-thinning, anti-platelet effect of its own. In a lab dish, raspberry leaf extract boosted the effect of a similar anti-platelet drug. So in theory, pairing the two could nudge your bleeding risk up a little, meaning easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or blood that's slower to stop.
That said, this is only lab data and has never actually been reported in people. An occasional cup of raspberry leaf tea is unlikely to be a problem, but concentrated capsule doses are less predictable. Since Effient is serious heart medicine, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Effient page
“Effient (prasugrel) keeps platelets from forming clots, usually after a stent or a heart attack, and I would not pair supplements with it casually. Roughly 200 ingredients on this list can thin the blood further and raise bleeding risk, including two of the five rated major.”
