Here's the thing to keep an eye on if you're pairing Rehmannia with Chlorpropamide. Chlorpropamide already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. In animal studies, Rehmannia has shown some blood-sugar-lowering activity of its own. So in theory, stacking the two could push your sugar down a little too far.

If that happened, you might feel the usual signs of low blood sugar: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, hunger, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. Worth noting, this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not strong human studies, so it may never cause a problem for you. Still, since chlorpropamide is long-acting, I'd mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your readings if you decide to try Rehmannia.
