Methyldopa falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Rehmannia interacts with.

Theoretically, rehmannia might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research shows that rehmannia may have hypotensive effects. Laboratory research shows that formulations of dried and processed rehmannia root inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE).

Here's the simple version: methyldopa already works to lower your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Rehmannia, at least in animal and lab studies, looks like it may nudge blood pressure down too, partly by acting a bit like an ACE inhibitor. Put the two together and you could, in theory, get more blood-pressure lowering than you bargained for.

If that happens, you might notice things like dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling tired, or feeling faint when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest, though: this is based on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a caution than a sure thing. If you'd like to try rehmannia, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings. Please don't stop or change your methyldopa on your own.
