Your combination pill pairs chlorthalidone, a water pill, with clonidine, a blood pressure medicine. The piece that matters here is the chlorthalidone. Like most diuretics, it makes you lose potassium through your urine. Rhubarb root, when used as a strong laxative in concentrated supplement doses, can flush potassium out through your bowels too. Stacking the two could, in theory, drop your potassium lower than you'd want.

Low potassium can leave you feeling tired, crampy, or weak, and in some cases cause an irregular heartbeat. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how these work, not proven cases, and ordinary rhubarb in a pie won't do this. Just check with your pharmacist before using rhubarb supplements regularly.
