Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
TALINOLOL
A small pharmacokinetic study in healthy volunteers shows that taking schisandra extract 300 mg twice daily for 14 days with a single dose of talinolol 100 mg on day 14 increases the peak talinolol level by 51% and the overall exposure to talinolol by 47%. This effect is thought to be due to the possible inhibition of cytochrome P450 3A4 and P-glycoprotein by schisandra. tly.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version: Talinolol is a beta-blocker that your body normally pumps back out using a transporter called P-glycoprotein, and it's partly handled by an enzyme called CYP3A4. Schisandra appears to slow both of those down, so less talinolol gets cleared and more of it stays in your bloodstream. In a small human study, schisandra raised talinolol levels by roughly 50%.
What that can mean for you is a stronger beta-blocker effect than expected. Think slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, lightheadedness, or feeling more tired than usual. This is real human data, not just theory, so it's worth taking seriously. Please don't change anything on your own. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing these two so they can check your heart rate and blood pressure.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Talinolol page
“Most of what talinolol does, slowing the heart and lowering blood pressure as a beta-blocker, is exactly what the supplements on this page can amplify or undo, so I would approach any combination here with genuine care. The largest share adds to its blood-pressure-lowering effect, risking dizziness, a slow pulse, or fainting, while a f…”

- Fatigue and low energy
- Stress and adaptogen support
- Liver health
- Mental focus and performance
- Menopause symptoms
- Respiratory complaints
Schisandra is a traditional Chinese medicine berry used as an adaptogen for stress, fatigue, and liver support.
