Here's the practical picture with this combination pill. St. John's wort can speed up certain liver enzymes (including CYP1A2), which tends to push some medicines out of your system faster. For a product like Bancap with Codeine, that mainly matters because the herb can lower how much drug stays active in your body, so the butalbital and pain relief may not work as reliably as expected.

One twist worth knowing: codeine is a prodrug, meaning your body has to convert it (mostly through a different enzyme, CYP2D6) into morphine to relieve pain. The CYP1A2 effect here is on the weaker side and the evidence is moderate, not ironclad. Still, before pairing these, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
