ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Orphenadrine
Aspirin, Caffeine, Orphenadrine falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Strawberry interacts with.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination product contains aspirin, which is the part that matters here. Aspirin already works by making your platelets less sticky, so your blood clots a little slower. Lab and animal studies hint that strawberry compounds (the antioxidant polyphenols) might also nudge platelets in that same direction, so in theory the two together could add up to a slightly higher bleeding tendency.
I want to keep this in perspective though. This is very weak evidence, only test tube and animal work, and eating strawberries as a food is not something I'd worry about. Concentrated strawberry supplements are a different story. Watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach upset, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a strawberry supplement.
