Strawberry + Glucagon
Glucagon brand names: Glucagon, Baqsimi.
We found no known interaction between Strawberry and Glucagon in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Strawberry and Glucagon
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Glucagon and Strawberry in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Glucagon
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Glucagon is filed under 2 classifications — antidiabetes drugs, oral drugs. Strawberry has documented interactions with 2 drug classes — the most serious being anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate) and p-glycoprotein substrates (moderate) — and none of Glucagon’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Strawberry Does Interact With Other Medications
Strawberry has 316 moderate known drug interactions in our database — Glucagon isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

What Glucagon Is Prescribed For, and What Strawberry Has Been Studied For
These two come up together because they touch the same health topic — not because they do the same job. Glucagon is a prescription medicine with approved uses on its FDA label. Strawberry is a supplement: what follows is what researchers have looked at it for, and how strong that evidence is.
Glucagon is prescribed for: Baqsimi nasal powder is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — dangerously low blood sugar — in adults and children aged 1 year and older who have diabetes. It is an emergency medicine meant to be used when a person cannot eat or drink to raise their blood sugar on their own.

Strawberry for diabetes
Preliminary clinical research in adults with type 2 diabetes shows that taking freeze-dried strawberry powder 50 grams daily for 6 weeks reduces glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) by 0.47% compared to an increase of 0.15% with placebo. However, there were no changes in serum glucose, anthropometric measurements, blood lipids, or blood pressure.

Effectiveness ratings and the research summaries above are the verbatim record from the Natural Medicines database, which grades evidence from “Effective” down to “Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate”. A rating below the top of that scale means researchers have looked at it — not that it works, and never that it can stand in for a prescribed medicine. Do not stop or replace Glucagon on your own; if you are taking Strawberry for the same health topic, tell your prescriber, especially if the medicine is being adjusted to a target.
See Every Supplement That Interacts With Glucagon
This page covers Strawberry only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Glucagon page lists 256 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate) and Agaricus Mushroom (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 215 moderate · 39 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glucagon page
“If you keep glucagon (Baqsimi) on hand to rescue a severe low blood sugar, read this list with genuine care. Of the 256 supplements and herbs on file, 239 affect blood sugar control, most by lowering glucose further, which can set up the very crash glucagon exists to reverse.”

Where Strawberry and Glucagon Sit Against Everything Else
Out of every supplement and medication people look up on HelloPharmacist, here is where these two land this week — and which way each has been moving.

Position among everything looked up on this site, not a measure of how commonly either one is used or how important it is. A supplement can climb this list because of a news story. It counts every request to the page, automated ones included, and nothing here identifies anyone.

- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Strawberry reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Strawberry and Glucagon records this page draws on were last updated July 10, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Strawberry
What is Strawberry?
- General antioxidant support
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Blood sugar support
- Skin and oral health
- Source of vitamin C and fiber
Strawberry is a popular, nutrient-rich fruit that supplies vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidant plant compounds. Eating strawberries as part of a balanced diet is healthy for most people, but concentrated supplement forms have only limited research behind specific health claims. If you have allergies or take it as a supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor.
Fragaria × ananassa · Rosaceae · Fruit (berries); leaves are also used in some traditional preparations · Fresh or frozen fruit, juice, powder, extracts, capsules, and leaf tea
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Strawberry is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Strawberry record says about it on its own.
Strawberry: dosing
There is no official or standardized dose of strawberry for any health condition. As a food, a typical serving is about a cup of fresh strawberries, which fits easily into a healthy diet. For supplements such as powders, extracts, or capsules, follow the directions on the product label, since concentrations vary widely between brands.

Glucagon Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Glucagon as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Strawberry — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
