Vismodegib falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Strawberry interacts with.

In vitro research suggests that strawberry extract can inhibit p-glycoprotein efflux. Theoretically, strawberry might inhibit p-glycoprotein mediated drug efflux and potentially increase levels of drugs that are substrates of p-glycoprotein. Until more is known, strawberry should be used cautiously in people taking p-glycoprotein substrates.
Drugs that might be affected include some chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), protease inhibitors (amprenavir, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir), H2 antagonists (cimetidine, ranitidine), some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, verapamil), corticosteroids, erythromycin, cisapride (Propulsid), fexofenadine (Allegra), cyclosporine, loperamide (Imodium), quinidine, and others.

Here's the deal with strawberries and your Erivedge (vismodegib). Your body uses a kind of cellular bouncer called p-glycoprotein to push certain drugs back out, and lab studies hint that strawberry extract might slow that bouncer down. In theory, that could let a bit more vismodegib build up in your system, which might mean stronger side effects like muscle spasms, hair thinning, loss of taste, nausea, or fatigue.

The big thing to keep in mind: this is based only on test-tube research, not real patients, so it's a very soft signal. Eating strawberries as food is almost certainly fine. Concentrated strawberry supplements are where I'd be more cautious. Before adding any, just run it past your oncologist or pharmacist.
