Alogliptin, Metformin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Tamarind interacts with.

Theoretically, tamarind seed extract might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal research suggests that an extract of tamarind seed can reduce fasting blood glucose levels. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments might be necessary.

Here's the gist: Kazano combines two diabetes medicines (alogliptin and metformin) that work to bring your blood sugar down. Tamarind seed extract may also nudge blood sugar lower. The concern isn't that tamarind blocks or speeds up how your body handles Kazano. Instead, the two could simply add up, possibly pushing your sugar lower than intended. That could mean shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling faint.

Honestly, this is based only on animal studies, so the evidence is weak. Eating tamarind as a food in normal cooking amounts is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated seed extracts are the bigger question mark. If you want to try one, check your blood sugar a bit more often and chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.
