Cenobamate falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Theacrine interacts with.

Theoretically, theacrine might alter the effects of CNS depressants.
Animal research shows that low doses of theacrine have sedating effects, whereas high doses might have stimulant effects. Depending on the dose of theacrine used, it might increase or decrease the effects of CNS depressants. However, these effects have not yet been reported in humans.

Here's the honest picture: when you pair theacrine with cenobamate (Xcopri), the concern isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other in your liver. It's that both can nudge the same dials in your brain. Cenobamate already quiets electrical activity to control seizures, and it can leave you feeling drowsy, dizzy, or unsteady. Theacrine is a bit of a wild card here.

In animal studies, low doses of theacrine acted sedating, while higher doses acted more like a stimulant. So theoretically it could either add to cenobamate's sleepiness or work against it. This has not actually been seen in people, so I don't want you to panic. Still, since seizure control matters, please run theacrine past your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
