Thymus Extract and Clobazam

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Clobazam and Thymus Extract in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Thymus Extract safety at a glance

Thymus Extract overall Use caution Human safety data are limited, and animal-tissue products carry a small risk of contamination.
Pregnancy Avoid There is not enough safety information, so it is best avoided during pregnancy.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Clobazam

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Clobazam is filed under 5 classifications — including benzodiazepines, anticonvulsants, cns depressants. Thymus Extract has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being immunosuppressants (moderate) — and none of Clobazam’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Clobazam. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 24,270 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Clobazam that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Thymus Extract’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Thymus Extract side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Thymus Extract has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clobazam page

“Clobazam (Onfi, Sympazan, Frisium) is a benzodiazepine for seizures, so extra sedation is a real safety hazard rather than a nuisance, and that is what most of this list adds. The great majority of these supplements and herbs deepen drowsiness, alcohol in any form among the most serious pairings.”

About Thymus Extract

What is Thymus Extract?

  • Immune system support
  • Frequent infections
  • Allergies
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Cancer supportive care

Thymus extract is a glandular product made from the thymus tissue of animals, and it is promoted mainly for immune support. The evidence is mostly limited, preliminary, or from older studies, so it should not replace proven treatments. Because it is an animal-tissue product, talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a serious medical condition.

Thymus gland tissue, usually from cattle or sheep · Capsules, tablets, oral liquid, injectable preparations (in some countries)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Thymus Extract is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Thymus Extract record says about it on its own.

Thymus Extract: dosing

There is no well-established standard dose for thymus extract, and products vary widely in their strength and source. Do not assume that taking more is safer or more effective.
