Oral Drugs
Why this applies to Beclomethasone dipropionate
Beclomethasone dipropionate falls under Oral Drugs — the group Thyroid Extract interacts with.
Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
Here's some good news: this particular interaction really doesn't apply to your beclomethasone (Qvar or QNASL). The concern on file is about things that block thyroid hormone from being absorbed in your gut, which matters for thyroid pills you swallow on an empty stomach. Beclomethasone is different. Qvar is an inhaler you breathe into your lungs, and QNASL is a spray for your nose, so almost none of it passes through your digestive tract where that kind of binding would happen.
In other words, your inhaled or nasal steroid shouldn't lower how well thyroid extract is absorbed, and the thyroid product shouldn't change how your beclomethasone works for your asthma or congestion. Even so, since over-the-counter thyroid extract is unpredictable, I'd still loop in your pharmacist or doctor before using it.

About Thyroid Extract
What is Thyroid Extract?
- Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
- Fatigue and low energy
- Weight management
- Sluggish metabolism
- General thyroid support
Thyroid extract supplements are made from dried animal thyroid gland and may contain real thyroid hormones (T3 and T4), but the amounts in over-the-counter products are not standardized and can be unpredictable. Self-treating a thyroid problem with these supplements can be risky, so always work with a doctor or pharmacist and use prescription thyroid medicine when treatment is needed.
About Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation
What Is Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation Used For?
Brand names: Qvar, QNASL
Beclomethasone dipropionate HFA inhalation aerosol (brand: Qvar Redihaler) is used for the ongoing, daily management of asthma in adults and children 5 years of age and older. It is a preventive (maintenance) therapy — not a rescue inhaler — meaning it helps control asthma over time rather than treating sudden symptoms.
Important: Qvar Redihaler is not for the relief of sudden asthma attacks or acute bronchospasm. Always keep a separate fast-acting (rescue) inhaler on hand for those moments.
