ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Amphetamine
Amphetamine falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Tragacanth interacts with.
Tragacanth contains hydrocolloidal fiber which can decrease, increase, or not affect oral drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take tragacanth 30-60 minutes after oral medications.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know about tragacanth and your amphetamine (like Dyanavel XR or Mydayis): tragacanth is a gummy fiber that swells into a thick gel in your stomach. That gel can grab onto pills as they pass through, and in theory it might change how much of your amphetamine your body soaks up. This isn't a chemical clash, it's just a physical timing issue with absorption.
If less gets absorbed, you might notice your ADHD or narcolepsy isn't as well controlled. If more gets in, you could feel jittery, have a faster heartbeat, or trouble sleeping. Honestly, this is theoretical and based on how the fiber behaves, not strong human studies. To play it safe, take your amphetamine first and wait 30 to 60 minutes before any tragacanth. Loop in your pharmacist if you have questions.

- Skin soothing in creams and pastes
Tragacanth is a plant gum used mainly as a thickener and emulsifier in foods, cosmetics, and medicines, and traditionally to soothe the throat and gut.
