Here's the simple version: tragacanth is mostly a fiber-based gum that swells into a thick gel when it hits liquid in your gut. That gel can sometimes get in the way of how an oral pill like sitaxsentan is absorbed. Depending on the situation, it might let in a little more, a little less, or have no real effect at all. This is a theoretical concern based on how the gum behaves, not something proven in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

To keep things steady, a good habit is to swallow your sitaxsentan first and wait about 30 to 60 minutes before taking tragacanth. Since this drug was used for pulmonary hypertension and steady blood levels matter, just run your routine by your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.
