Zedoary + Warfarin
Warfarin brand name: Warfarin.
Zedoary has a moderate interaction with Warfarin. Theoretically, zedoary might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Warfarin
Warfarin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Zedoary interacts with.
In-vitro research shows that a methanol extract of zedoary strongly inhibits the CYP3A4 metabolism of the tyrosine kinase inhibitors lapatinib and sorafenib, and to a lesser extent, gefitinib.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the idea behind this pairing. Warfarin is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and lab studies hint that zedoary might slow that enzyme down. If that happened in real life, your body could clear warfarin a little slower, letting levels creep up and thinning your blood more than intended. With warfarin, that can mean easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or more serious bleeding.
That said, I want to be fair about the evidence. This is only a theoretical concern from test-tube work, not from people, and warfarin actually leans more on a different enzyme (CYP2C9). Still, warfarin has a narrow safety margin, so even small shifts matter. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding zedoary, and don't change your warfarin on your own.

About Zedoary
What is Zedoary?
- Digestive upset and bloating
- Loss of appetite
- Menstrual discomfort
- Inflammation and pain
- Traditional flavoring and tonic
Zedoary is a ginger-family root used in traditional Asian and Indian medicine, mostly for digestion and as a spice. Scientific evidence in humans is very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy.
About Warfarin
What Is Warfarin Used For?
Brand name: Warfarin
Warfarin sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets are both used to prevent and treat venous thrombosis (blood clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lungs). They are also used to prevent clot-related complications in people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) or who have had a heart valve replaced.
In people who have had a heart attack, warfarin is used to reduce the risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or other clotting events. It does not dissolve an existing clot, but it helps prevent the clot from growing and stops new dangerous clots from forming.
