ABC Australian Raspberry Chews Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking ABC Australian Raspberry Chews against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
This powder contains 6 active ingredients: three branched-chain amino acids (L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine), plus L-Glutamine, Beta-Alanine, and Citrulline Malate. These are all amino acids — the building blocks your body uses to make and repair muscle, especially during and after exercise.
The product also contains inactive ingredients: natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, and sucralose for taste and texture.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence here is mixed. L-Glutamine is rated effective for sickle cell disease, and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, recovery after surgery, and critical illness from trauma.
Beta-Alanine is possibly effective for athletic performance and physical performance, but evidence is insufficient to rate it for cognitive decline, COPD, cognitive function, or menopausal symptoms. We don't have effectiveness ratings in our data for L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, or Citrulline Malate.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-Glutamine is generally well tolerated, though it can cause belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, headache, and gastrointestinal pain — especially at higher doses. People with kidney or liver disease should use it only under medical supervision.
It's rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation, but the safety data advises avoiding supplemental doses while breastfeeding unless your doctor recommends it. Beta-Alanine is generally well tolerated and commonly causes a harmless tingling or pins-and-needles sensation on the skin, usually starting on the scalp within 20 minutes and lasting about an hour.
Skin flushing can also occur. The safety data advises against beta-alanine during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know either way.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take an anticonvulsant medication (a seizure drug), double-check with your pharmacist before using this product — L-Glutamine might theoretically interfere with how it works. For all other prescription medications, use the medication checker below to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you're looking for amino acid support for muscle recovery or athletic performance, especially if you have sickle cell disease or are recovering from surgery. If you take an anticonvulsant medication or have kidney or liver disease, talk to your pharmacist before starting.
Most importantly, check your exact medications with the tool on this page.
