ABC Pink Guava Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking ABC Pink Guava against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
ABC Pink Guava is a powder with 6 active ingredients, all amino acids. The main components are L-Glutamine, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine — these are individual branched-chain amino acids (building blocks your muscles and body use for repair and function).
You'll also find Beta-Alanine, which supports physical performance, and Citrulline Malate, which plays a role in blood flow and muscle function. The product contains inactive ingredients including natural and artificial flavoring, citric acid, and two artificial sweeteners (Sucralose and Acesulfame-K).
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
L-Glutamine is rated effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, postoperative recovery, and critical illness from trauma. Beta-Alanine is rated possibly effective for athletic performance and physical performance; evidence isn't established for its use in age-related cognitive decline, COPD, general cognitive function, or menopausal symptoms.
We don't hold effectiveness data for the other amino acids in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-Glutamine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults but requires medical supervision if you have kidney or liver disease. Common side effects include belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, gastrointestinal pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting — especially at higher doses.
Dizziness and headache have been reported, and two people with bipolar disorder experienced mania or hypomania on glutamine supplements, though this is rare. Glutamine is rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation.
Beta-Alanine is generally well tolerated but commonly causes harmless pins-and-needles tingling (paresthesia) and skin flushing, usually on the scalp within 20 minutes and lasting about an hour. Safety data is insufficient for pregnancy and breastfeeding, so it's best to avoid it during those times.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take anticonvulsant medications (drugs used to prevent seizures), double-check this product with your pharmacist first — L-Glutamine may theoretically interfere with how they work. No other interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is designed for people looking to support athletic performance and muscle recovery with amino acids. If you take anticonvulsant medication or have kidney or liver disease, talk with your pharmacist before you start.
The tingling sensation from beta-alanine is harmless but worth knowing about upfront. Check your exact medications against this product before you begin.

ABC Pink Guava by Core Nutritionals Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
ABC Pink Guava by Core Nutritionals contains one ingredient with documented drug interactions: L-Glutamine.
This amino acid may interfere with anticonvulsant medications (drugs used to prevent seizures). Glutamine is broken down into glutamate, an excitatory brain chemical that theoretically could work against how anticonvulsants function — though this hasn't yet been reported in humans, so the interaction remains theoretical at this stage and is marked as Moderate severity.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The other active ingredients in this product — L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, Citrulline Malate, and the Branched-Chain Amino Acids blend — we could not check for interactions; we hold no interaction data for them. Beta-Alanine was checked and has no interactions documented in our data, though absence of documentation is not a guarantee that none exist.
Altogether, these interactions span 50 individual medications. If you take an anticonvulsant or any other prescription medication, run your exact drugs through the checker on this page before you start.
