What’s inside
Full disclosure
Active-Q Ubiquinol 200 mg contains one active ingredient: ubiquinol, a form of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a compound your cells use to produce energy and protect themselves from oxidative damage. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients—medium chain triglycerides, gelatin, ascorbyl palmitate, glycerin, purified water, sunflower lecithin, annatto suspension, and beeswax—that help deliver and stabilize the ubiquinol.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Ubiquinol is likely effective for correcting coenzyme Q10 deficiency. For other conditions, the evidence is more limited.
It's possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain (neuropathy), though the research is still emerging and results have been inconsistent.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Ubiquinol is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed. In clinical trials, no serious adverse effects have been reported.
Gastrointestinal side effects—such as appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting—occur in fewer than 1% of users; dividing doses above 100 mg throughout the day may help minimize these. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported rarely, as have skin reactions like itching or allergic rash in a small number of trial participants.
For pregnancy, there isn't enough reliable safety data, so it's best to avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied; check with your doctor before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist before using this product if you take chemotherapy drugs (especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide), warfarin or other blood thinners, or medications for high blood pressure. Ubiquinol may reduce how well chemotherapy works, decrease warfarin's effectiveness, or add to blood pressure-lowering effects.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Consider this product if your doctor thinks you may have a CoQ10 deficiency or you're interested in its possible benefits for heart health or migraines. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy drugs, or blood pressure medications, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
It's generally well tolerated, but let us know if you develop any unusual symptoms.

Active-Q Ubiquinol 200 mg by Tishcon Corp. Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Active-Q Ubiquinol 200 mg by Tishcon Corp. does interact with a number of medications.
The most serious concern is with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide). Because ubiquinol has antioxidant properties, it may theoretically reduce how well these drugs work by protecting tumor cells from the oxidative stress that makes the chemotherapy effective.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The product also affects blood thinners, specifically warfarin (Coumadin). Ubiquinol is chemically similar to vitamin K and may have blood-clotting effects that decrease warfarin's ability to thin your blood.
A handful of cases of reduced warfarin effectiveness have been reported. Additionally, ubiquinol may slightly lower your blood pressure; if you're already taking blood pressure medications, there's a small risk of an additive effect.
Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications. If you take any chemotherapy drugs, warfarin, or blood pressure medications, run your exact prescriptions through the interaction checker on this page before you start.

For each ingredient in Active-Q Ubiquinol 200 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Ubiquinol
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
