Bio.Me Oral contains 9 active ingredients—all live probiotic bacteria (also called friendly bacteria or beneficial microorganisms). The ones we have data for are Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, and Streptococcus thermophilus, along with several Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains.
The product also contains three inactive ingredients: maize starch, maltodextrin, and hydrolyzed rice protein—these are fillers and binders that help hold the powder together.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for this product is mixed. Bifidobacterium bifidum is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and respiratory tract infections, but the evidence for other conditions—including hay fever, anxiety, and cognitive decline—is too limited to rate.
Bifidobacterium breve shows a possibly ineffective rating for age-related cognitive decline and sepsis. Streptococcus thermophilus has insufficient evidence for conditions like antibiotic-associated diarrhea, bacterial vaginosis, and constipation.
In short, the strongest evidence supports use for IBS and respiratory infections, but for most other uses the science isn't established enough yet.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These probiotics are generally well tolerated in healthy people. That said, if you have a weakened immune system, you should be cautious—rare cases of Bifidobacterium infection (bacteremia) have occurred in critically ill patients, preterm infants, and those with central lines.
Bloating and flatulence are reported with probiotics in general, though not specifically tied to the individual strains here. One case of vomiting and fever was reported in a child taking two probiotics together, but it's unclear whether the probiotics caused it.
The safety data are limited, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you're very ill or immunocompromised.

Bifidobacterium bifidum W23
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium. bifidum with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. bifidum.
Since B. bifidum preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. bifidum preparations by at least 2 hours.
Bifidobacterium breve W25
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Bifidobacterium breve with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of B. breve.
Since B. breve preparations usually contain live and active organisms, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. breve preparations by at least 2 hours.
