What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Q-Sorb Coenzyme Q10 at 100 mg per softgel capsule. CoQ10 is a compound your body makes naturally and uses for energy production in cells.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients — rice bran oil, glycerin, silica, and soy lecithin — which help deliver the active ingredient.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
CoQ10 is rated Likely Effective for treating CoQ10 deficiency. It's rated Possibly Effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy — meaning there's some clinical evidence supporting these uses, but it's not definitive yet.
Talk with your pharmacist or doctor about whether this dose and form makes sense for what you're taking it for.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed. The most common side effects — appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — occur in less than 1% of people.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have also been reported. If you're taking daily doses above 100 mg, splitting them can help minimize stomach upset.
There isn't enough reliable safety data during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied either — talk with your doctor before using it if you're breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, check with us if you take warfarin or other blood thinners — CoQ10 might reduce how well they work (Moderate concern). Also double-check if you're on chemotherapy, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide (Moderate), or blood pressure medications (Minor), since CoQ10 may affect how they perform.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 is a reasonable choice if you have a documented CoQ10 deficiency or want to try it for migraine, heart failure, or nerve pain — but you'll want to talk with your pharmacist first if you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medication. It's generally well tolerated, but not during pregnancy without doctor approval.

Co Q-10 100 mg by Puritan's Pride Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Puritan's Pride Co Q-10 100 mg does interact with several medication types, most notably blood thinners.
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may reduce how well warfarin (a blood thinner) works — four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness tied to CoQ10 have been reported. This is a Moderate concern.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (like cyclophosphamide) are also a Moderate concern. CoQ10's antioxidant effects might theoretically protect tumor cells from these drugs and reduce their effectiveness.
Additionally, blood pressure medications carry a Minor interaction — CoQ10 may have additive effects and could lower your blood pressure further, though study results on CoQ10 and blood pressure have been mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. If you take any of these drug types — especially warfarin or chemotherapy — run your exact medications through the checker on this page before you start.

Q-Sorb Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
