HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Co Q-10 200 mg by Vitamin World
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q-10 (also called ubiquinone), supplied at 200 mg per softgel. CoQ-10 is a naturally occurring compound your body uses to generate energy in your cells and to protect them from oxidative damage.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients — rice bran oil, gelatin, and vegetable glycerin — to deliver the dose.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for coenzyme Q-10 varies by condition. It's considered likely effective for treating coenzyme Q-10 deficiency itself.
For fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy, the evidence is rated possibly effective — meaning there's some research support but it's not definitive. If you're considering this for one of those conditions, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about what the current evidence suggests for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q-10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed. In clinical studies, no serious adverse effects have been reported.
Gastrointestinal side effects — such as appetite suppression, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — occur in less than 1% of patients; dividing doses above 100 mg daily may help minimize these. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported, and skin itching or rash is rare.
For pregnancy, there isn't enough reliable safety data, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding has not been well studied, so use caution and check with your doctor if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Double-check coenzyme Q-10 before starting if you take warfarin or other blood thinners (Moderate risk — it may reduce their effectiveness), chemotherapy drugs like alkylating agents (Moderate risk — it may interfere with how they work), or blood pressure medications (Minor risk — it may lower your pressure further). If you're on any of these, run it past your pharmacist or doctor first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ-10 may be worth considering if you have a documented deficiency or are exploring options for heart health, migraine, or diabetic nerve pain — but the evidence is stronger for deficiency itself. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medication, you need to check this product with your pharmacist first.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you're pregnant or nursing.

Co Q-10 200 mg by Vitamin World Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Vitamin World's Co Q-10 200 mg does interact with several important medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners, specifically warfarin (Coumadin) — a Moderate severity interaction. Coenzyme Q-10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may work against warfarin's blood-thinning effects.
Four documented cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness have been reported, so if you take warfarin, you'll want to check this with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q-10 may also interfere with chemotherapy drugs like alkylating agents (such as cyclophosphamide). Because it has antioxidant properties, it could theoretically reduce how well these cancer medications work — that's a Moderate severity concern.
Additionally, there's a Minor interaction with blood pressure medications. Some research shows CoQ-10 can lower blood pressure on its own, so adding it to your blood pressure drug might lower your pressure more than intended.
Although coenzyme Q-10 is the single ingredient here, it does interact with a broad range of medications. Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Co Q-10 200 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
