Coenzyme Q10 Powder Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Coenzyme Q10 Powder against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Coenzyme Q10, a compound your cells naturally produce and use to generate energy. It's also a potent antioxidant — meaning it neutralizes harmful free radicals — and it's involved in heart and nerve function.
There are no inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence varies by use. Coenzyme Q10 is rated Likely Effective for replacing it when your body's levels are low — a real deficiency state.
It's Possibly Effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy (nerve pain from diabetes), though the research here is less robust. If you're considering it for one of these conditions, talk it through with your doctor to see if the evidence fits your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when used as directed. In clinical studies, no serious side effects have been reported.
The most common adverse effects are mild gastrointestinal symptoms — appetite suppression, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — and these occur in less than 1% of users. Dividing doses above 100 mg throughout the day may help minimize these.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported rarely. A few cases of skin itching and allergic rash have also been documented.
During pregnancy, there is not enough reliable safety data, so it's best to avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise. For breastfeeding, safety has not been well studied, so talk with your doctor before using.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this, double-check if you're on warfarin (Coumadin) — it's a Moderate concern because CoQ10 may reduce its blood-thinning effect. If you're undergoing chemotherapy with alkylating agents, talk with your oncology team first; CoQ10's antioxidant action could theoretically interfere with how these drugs work.
Blood pressure medications warrant a Minor check as well — CoQ10 itself may lower your pressure. Use the medication search tool on this page to confirm your specific drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Coenzyme Q10 is a reasonable option if you have a documented deficiency or are exploring support for migraine, heart failure, or nerve pain — and it's well tolerated in most people. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy drugs, or blood pressure medications, check with your pharmacist first.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Coenzyme Q10 Powder by Nootropics Depot does interact with several medication types, so it's worth a quick check before you start.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The biggest concern is warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner (anticoagulant). Coenzyme Q10 has a chemical structure similar to vitamin K, which can promote clotting.
There's a documented Moderate risk that it may reduce warfarin's effectiveness — four cases of this have been reported in the literature. If you take warfarin, you'll want to run this past your pharmacist or doctor before adding CoQ10.
Chemotherapy drugs that work by generating free radicals — such as alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide — also carry a Moderate interaction risk. Coenzyme Q10 is a potent antioxidant, and theoretically it could shield tumor cells from the oxidative damage these drugs rely on to work.
This is something you and your oncology team need to discuss directly.
Blood pressure medications show a Minor interaction risk. Some research suggests coenzyme Q10 can lower blood pressure on its own, so combined with antihypertensive drugs, your pressure might drop further than intended.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to see if any of yours are affected.

For each ingredient in Coenzyme Q10 Powder with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
