Calcium
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

Lactoferrin
Description:Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein that has the ability to attach to iron. It is present in various bodily fluids like colostrum, nasal secretions, intestinal secretions, genital secretions, tears, saliva, and even seminal fluid in humans and animals. Neutrophils, a type of white blood cell, also release lactoferrin. This versatile protein can be obtained from human or bovine milk, and it can also be extracted from rice through recombinant technology.

Each order will vary in density, solubility, smell, and taste due to season, different cows and ambient humidity at time of processing. A serving size of 5g is based on weight not volume. If precise measurement of a serving size is required, use a gram scale.

- Many of our customers use Colostrum-LD as follows:
For immune and GI health: 1-2 tsp. twice a day.
Anti-aging: 1-2 Tbsp. twice a day.
To help maintain balanced blood sugar levels between meals: 1 Tbsp. between meals.
Athletic performance: 2 Tbsp. prior to work out and again one hour prior to bed.
Healthy looking skin: 1-2 tsp. twice a day.
Pets: 1/2-2 tsp. depending on need and size. Mix in small amount of water prior to meal.
- Directions for Use: Mix with 4 oz. plain luke warm water and drink on an empty stomach. Wait 20-30 minuted before eating.
Suggested uses:
General use: 1 tsp. twice a day.
Advanced used: 2 tsp. twice a day.
Optimum use times: first thing in the AM and one hour prior to bed. The bio-identical growth hormones and factors in Colostrum-LD work best to promote the health of body tissue during sleep. For more flavor: Just add an ice cube if desired; 1/2 tsp organic cocoa powder for chocolate; 2 strawberries or a few blueberries and stevia to taste. For infants and toddlers mix in with water or formula, yogurt or applesauce. Do not mix with any acidic or hot beverages such as coffee or orange juice.
