What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking CoQ-10 100 mg against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Coenzyme Q-10 (CoQ-10) at 100 mg per softgel capsule. CoQ-10 is a compound your body makes naturally and stores in cells; it plays a role in energy production and acts as an antioxidant.
The softgel also contains rice bran oil, gelatin, and glycerin as inactive ingredients to hold and deliver the CoQ-10.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
CoQ-10 is rated likely effective for treating CoQ-10 deficiency. It's rated possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure (CHF), and diabetic neuropathy.
The evidence supporting these other uses exists but isn't as strong as for deficiency, so results vary from person to person.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ-10 is generally well tolerated by most adults at the doses used. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — appetite suppression, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort (stomach upset), heartburn, nausea, and vomiting — and these occur in less than 1% of people.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported. Skin itching and allergic rash are rare.
There isn't enough reliable safety data during pregnancy, so it's best avoided unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety data for breastfeeding hasn't been well studied; check with your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before starting if you take chemotherapy drugs (especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide) — CoQ-10's antioxidant effects may reduce their effectiveness. Warfarin (Coumadin) users should be cautious; CoQ-10 may decrease its blood-thinning effect.
If you take blood pressure medications, your pressure should be monitored, as CoQ-10 might add to their effect.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ-10 may be worth considering if you have a documented CoQ-10 deficiency or want to explore it for migraine, heart failure, or neuropathy — though results aren't guaranteed. If you take chemotherapy, warfarin, or blood pressure medication, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.
It's generally well tolerated, but gastrointestinal side effects can happen.

CoQ-10 100 mg by CVS Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
CoQ-10 by CVS Health can interact with a handful of medication types.
The most serious concern is with chemotherapy drugs called alkylating agents (like cyclophosphamide). CoQ-10 has antioxidant properties, which theoretically may reduce how well these cancer medications work by protecting tumor cells from the oxidative stress these drugs rely on to kill cancer.
If you're undergoing chemotherapy, talk to your oncologist before starting CoQ-10.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
You'll also want to check if you take warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner. CoQ-10 is chemically similar to vitamin K and may have blood-clotting effects that could reduce warfarin's effectiveness.
There are a few reported cases of this interaction. Additionally, CoQ-10 might have a minor additive effect with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives), so your pressure should be monitored if you take both.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Use the medication checker below with your exact drug names to see if any apply to you.

For each ingredient in CoQ-10 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q-10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
