HelloPharmacist Scorecard of CoQ10 60 mg Capsules by Bluebonnet
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) at 60 mg per capsule. CoQ10 is a compound your body makes naturally and uses in cells for energy production and antioxidant protection.
The capsule itself and the inactive ingredients—silica, vegetable cellulose, and vegetable magnesium stearate—are just there to deliver the CoQ10.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
CoQ10 is likely effective for replacing CoQ10 deficiency in people whose bodies don't have enough of it naturally. For other uses, the evidence is mixed: it's possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve pain (neuropathy), but we're holding out for stronger proof in those areas.
Talk to your pharmacist about whether this product matches what you're hoping to use it for.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated by most adults at typical doses. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal—upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, or heartburn—and these happen in fewer than 1% of people.
Splitting doses higher than 100 mg across the day may help. Headache, dizziness, and sleep trouble have been reported in some cases, along with rare reports of skin rashes or itching.
There isn't enough reliable safety data for pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied either—check with your doctor before taking it if you're nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this CoQ10, double-check with your pharmacist if you're on warfarin or another blood thinner—CoQ10 may weaken its effect. If you're undergoing chemotherapy with alkylating agents, talk to your oncologist first.
And if you take blood pressure medication, let your doctor know you're considering this, since CoQ10 may add to its blood-pressure-lowering effect.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 from Bluebonnet is a straightforward, well-tolerated supplement if you're addressing a documented deficiency or want to try it for migraine or heart-related concerns. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy drugs, or blood pressure medications, you'll need to run this past your pharmacist or doctor first.
Same goes if you're pregnant or breastfeeding—get personalized advice before you start.

CoQ10 60 mg Capsules by Bluebonnet Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Bluebonnet's CoQ10 60 mg interacts with several medication types.
The most serious concern is chemotherapy drugs—specifically alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. Because CoQ10 is an antioxidant, it may theoretically shield tumor cells from the oxidative stress that these drugs rely on to kill cancer cells, reducing their effectiveness.
If you're undergoing chemotherapy, talk to your oncologist before starting this supplement.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Warfarin (a blood thinner) is a Moderate-severity concern. CoQ10 has a chemical structure similar to vitamin K, which promotes clotting.
Case reports suggest it can weaken warfarin's blood-thinning effect—four instances have been documented. Your prescriber needs to know if you're taking CoQ10 alongside warfarin and may want to monitor your clotting levels.
Blood pressure medications carry a Minor interaction risk. CoQ10 may have additive blood-pressure-lowering effects, though study results on this have been mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to see if any of your drugs fall into these categories.

For each ingredient in CoQ10 60 mg Capsules with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
