What’s inside
Full disclosure
NusaPure GABA 750 mg contains one active ingredient: GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), an amino acid your brain naturally makes. The capsule also holds cellulose, magnesium stearate, rice flour, and silica as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for GABA isn't established yet in the data we hold. We have insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for anxiety, ADHD, athletic performance, cerebral palsy, or chronic bronchitis.
If you're considering this supplement for any of these reasons, talk with your doctor about what the current research shows and whether it makes sense for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
GABA taken by mouth is generally well tolerated short-term, but long-term safety hasn't been well studied, so caution is warranted with longer use. The most common side effects reported are drowsiness, nausea, stomach upset, minor throat burning, and muscle weakness.
There isn't enough safety information to recommend this product during pregnancy; the data we hold doesn't address pregnancy safety. There also isn't enough information to know if it's safe while breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this if you're on blood pressure medications — GABA may lower your pressure further. Also double-check if you take sedating drugs or sleep aids, as GABA might increase drowsiness.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
GABA 750 mg might appeal to someone exploring options for relaxation, but the evidence for its effectiveness isn't solid yet. If you're on blood pressure medication or take sedating drugs, you'll want to clear this with your doctor or pharmacist first — GABA could add to their effects.
Long-term safety is an open question, so this isn't a take-forever supplement without discussion.

GABA 750 mg by NusaPure Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
NusaPure's GABA 750 mg can interact with medications through its single active ingredient.
The most serious concern is with blood pressure medications (antihypertensives) — GABA may add to their effect and lower your blood pressure too much, a moderate-severity risk. GABA also has a minor interaction with sedatives and other central nervous system depressants (CNS depressants), where it might increase drowsiness, though it's unclear how often this matters in practice.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Although GABA is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth, the long-term safety profile hasn't been thoroughly studied. We hold documented interactions data for GABA itself.
Altogether, these interactions span 419 individual medications.
Before you start this supplement, check with your doctor or pharmacist about any blood pressure medications or sedating drugs you're on — they'll want to know you're adding GABA.

GABA
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, taking GABA with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Some clinical research shows that GABA can decrease blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, GABA might have additive sedative effects when used in conjunction with CNS depressants. However, it is unclear if this concern is clinically relevant.
Endogenous GABA has well-established relaxant effects and GABA(A) receptors have an established physiological role in sleep. However, the effects of GABA supplements are unclear, as it is unknown whether exogenous GABA crosses the blood-brain barrier. Although there have been limited reports of drowsiness or tiredness with GABA supplements, these effects have not been widely reported in clinical studies. Additionally, intravenous GABA 0.1-1 mg/kg has been shown to induce anxiety in a dose-dependent manner.
