Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

Glutamimmune is a single-ingredient supplement: L-glutamine, an amino acid your body naturally makes and uses. There are no inactive fillers or other ingredients in this product.

Glutamine plays roles in immune function, gut health, and muscle recovery, especially during times of stress or illness. This unflavored powder form lets you mix it into beverages or foods as you prefer.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Strong

Clinical evidence supports at least one of this product's ingredients for its stated purpose.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Immune support and muscle recovery.
  • We looked for evidence on: Athletic performance, Exercise-induced muscle damage, Oral mucositis, Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea, Radiation-induced diarrhea, Postoperative recovery — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Glutamine is rated "Effective" for Sickle cell disease (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Glutamine is rated "Possibly Effective" for Critical illness (trauma), Postoperative recovery.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Glutamine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — belching, bloating, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Headache and musculoskeletal pain have also been reported. A small number of people have experienced dizziness; one case resolved when the dose was reduced.

People with kidney or liver disease should use glutamine only under medical supervision. Pregnancy and lactation safety data are limited — the evidence rates it likely safe, but there isn't enough reliable data to be certain, so discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Glutamine.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: seizure medications.
  • For scale: 50 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, confirm with your doctor or pharmacist if you take anticonvulsant medications (seizure drugs). These interactions are moderate in severity and haven't been reported in patients yet, but glutamine's metabolite may theoretically work against how these drugs function.

For more than a century, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has pioneered the development of new and innovative technologies used to manufacture and purify pharmaceutical-grade amino acids.

Industry leading purification processes allow quicker absorption, faster bio-availability, proven consistency and unrivaled efficacy. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. is the global leader in production, sales and research of amino acids used for medical, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, sports, nutrition and health industries.

Enviormental sustainability

100% plant fermentation

In situations of body stress, such as heavy exercise, viral or bacterial infections, the concentration of L-glutamine in the blood diminishes. Since L-glutamine is used as fuel by the rapidly proliferating cells of the immune system, oral intake of L-glutamine has been shown in clinical studies to have a beneficial effect on gut function and on many aspects of immune cell function. L-glutamine has also been shown in clinical studies to help reduce muscular inflammation after exercise and to reduce swelling following an injury. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. has been the world's leading producer of amino acids since 1956. Our amino acids are trusted for clinical research and used by medical doctors, hospitals, professional & Olympic athletes and professional health care facilities worldwide.
