What’s inside
Full disclosure
Gorilla Mode EAAS Jungle Juice is a powder blend of 9 amino acids—the building blocks your body uses to make and repair muscle and other tissues. The active ingredients are L-valine, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-tryptophan, L-phenylalanine, L-histidine, L-methionine, L-lysine, and L-threonine.
These are "essential" amino acids, meaning your body cannot make them and must get them from food or supplements; they're especially important during workouts and recovery. The powder also contains inactive ingredients (fillers and flavoring) including silicon dioxide, malic acid, citric acid, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, and natural and artificial flavors.
Does it work?
Not established
The amino acids in this product have mixed effectiveness data. L-lysine is possibly effective for cold sores (herpes labialis).
L-phenylalanine is possibly effective for vitiligo, a skin condition causing loss of color. L-tryptophan appears possibly ineffective for depression.
For the other claimed uses—athletic performance, anxiety, muscle growth, and general recovery—the evidence we hold either is insufficient to rate them or shows they're possibly ineffective. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product will help with your specific goal.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-tryptophan is generally well tolerated but has a serious history: in 1989, more than 1,500 U.S. cases of a rare neurological disorder called eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS) were traced to contaminated L-tryptophan from a single Japanese manufacturer. The FDA restricted its importation afterward.
Most common side effects from L-tryptophan include belching, diarrhea, drowsiness, dry mouth, flatulence, headache, heartburn, lightheadedness, nausea, stomach pain, visual blurring, and vomiting. L-phenylalanine may cause anxiety, constipation, headache, heartburn, insomnia, nausea, and sedation.
L-lysine often causes abdominal pain, diarrhea, and indigestion. L-methionine at high doses may raise homocysteine (a risk factor for heart disease) and cause dizziness, drowsiness, low blood pressure, and irritability.
L-threonine can cause headache, diarrhea, gas, and constipation. Avoid this product during pregnancy—safety data for supplement doses of L-tryptophan and L-phenylalanine advises against it.
Do not breastfeed while taking L-tryptophan or L-phenylalanine; safety is not established. Do not use this product if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), since it contains phenylalanine.
Meds to double-check
Major interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take CNS depressants (drugs that slow the brain, like sedatives, opioids, or alcohol), serotonergic drugs (many antidepressants), levodopa (for Parkinson disease), baclofen (a muscle relaxer), non-selective MAOIs (older antidepressants), NMDA antagonists (like memantine for Alzheimer disease), or 5-HT4 agonists (digestive medications). These are the main drug types with documented interactions; the interactions range from minor to major in seriousness.

Gorilla Mode EAAS Jungle Juice by Gorilla Mind Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Gorilla Mode EAAS Jungle Juice by Gorilla Mind contains several amino acids with documented interactions.
The most serious concern is through L-tryptophan and L-phenylalanine: L-tryptophan can cause major interactions with CNS depressants (drugs that slow the brain and nervous system), potentially adding to their sedative effects, and L-phenylalanine can significantly reduce the effectiveness of levodopa, a medication for Parkinson disease. Altogether, these interactions span 407 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
L-tryptophan also carries a moderate interaction with serotonergic drugs (medications that work through serotonin, including many antidepressants). Combining them might increase serotonin-related side effects, including serotonin syndrome and blood vessel constriction.
L-phenylalanine has moderate interactions with baclofen (a muscle relaxer) and non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOIs (older-class antidepressants), where it may lower baclofen levels or raise blood pressure to dangerous levels. L-lysine carries a minor interaction with 5-HT4 agonists, a class of digestive drugs, potentially reducing their effect.
L-threonine interacts with NMDA antagonists (drugs like memantine for Alzheimer disease, or ketamine), theoretically decreasing how well they work. We could not check L-valine, L-leucine, or L-isoleucine for interactions.

For each ingredient in Gorilla Mode EAAS Jungle Juice with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
L-Tryptophan
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-tryptophan with CNS depressants might cause additive sedative effects.
Clinical research shows that L-tryptophan can cause fatigue and drowsiness.
Serotonergic Drugs
Theoretically, combining L-tryptophan with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.
L-tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with L-tryptophan might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders.
L-Phenylalanine
Levodopa
Phenylalanine, especially in high doses, can reduce the effectiveness of levodopa.
Phenylalanine competes with levodopa for carrier-mediated transport into the brain. The resulting reduction in levels of levodopa in the brain can exacerbate tremor, rigidity, and the "on-off" phenomenon in patients with Parkinson disease.
Baclofen
Concomitant intake of phenylalanine may reduce the intestinal absorption of baclofen.
Phenylalanine and baclofen share the same intestinal carrier for absorption; phenylalanine competitively inhibits the absorption of baclofen, reducing its plasma levels.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (Maois)
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-phenylalanine and non-selective MAOIs might increase the risk of hypertensive crisis.
L-phenylalanine is metabolized to tyrosine. Some evidence suggests that L-phenylalanine, given with the non-selective MAOI pargyline, might prevent the elimination of tyramine, increasing the risk of hypertensive crisis. However, this was not reported in a small number of patients when using L-phenylalanine with the partially selective MAO-B inhibitor, selegiline.
L-Threonine
Nmda Antagonists
Theoretically, threonine might decrease the effects of NMDA antagonists.
Threonine increases central nervous system (CNS) glycine levels. Glycine seems to bind a site on NMDA receptors and enhance the activity of the receptors.
L-Lysine
5-Ht4 Agonists
Theoretically, lysine may reduce the effects of 5-HT4 agonists.
Animal research suggests that L-lysine is a partial serotonin receptor 4 (5-HT4) antagonist and inhibits diarrhea induced by the 5-HT4 agonist, 5-hydroxytryptophane.
