Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Hi-Absorption Co-Q10 contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 (also called ubiquinone), delivered as a 100 mg softgel. The remaining ingredients are inactive — soybean oil, gelatin, beeswax, purified water, lecithin, titanium dioxide, and food colorings (FD&C Yellow #6 and Red #40) — which serve as the capsule base and help deliver the active ingredient.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Coenzyme Q10 is Likely Effective for treating coenzyme Q10 deficiency itself. For other uses, the evidence is more limited: it's rated Possibly Effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes).
These Possibly Effective ratings mean there's some clinical support, but more research is needed to confirm benefit.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when used at directed doses. The most common side effects — gastrointestinal ones like nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, and appetite suppression — occur in less than 1% of people and are usually mild.
Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported less often. Skin itching and allergic rash are rare.
There isn't enough reliable safety data in pregnancy to say whether it's safe, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied either — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice before using it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take warfarin or other blood thinners — coenzyme Q10 may reduce their effectiveness. Also mention it if you're on chemotherapy (especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide) or blood pressure medications, where additive effects are possible.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Consider Hi-Absorption Co-Q10 if you have a documented coenzyme Q10 deficiency or want to explore it for fibromyalgia, migraines, heart failure, or diabetic nerve pain — though evidence for these is still limited. Be extra careful if you take warfarin, chemotherapy drugs, or blood pressure medication; check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety hasn't been established, so talk it over with your own healthcare provider first.

Formula
Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, provides powerful antioxidant support for the heart which contributes to heart and cardiovascular wellness. CoQ10 is naturally produced by the body to help with cell growth and production. However, natural CoQ10 levels tend to be lower in aging adults and those who develop chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease. CoQ10 helps promote energy function within the heart, brain and muscles. When CoQ10 is abundant, this nutrient helps the heart cope with the demands of the body while expending less energy. CoQ10 can also help support blood pressure levels already within a normal range. Furthermore, CoQ10 is considered a useful resource to combat the effects of stress on the body and in supporting optimal wellness.

Hi-Absorption Co-Q10 100 mg by Nu-Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Hi-Absorption Co-Q10 by Nu-Health contains coenzyme Q10, which has documented interactions with blood thinners, chemotherapy drugs, and blood pressure medications.
The most serious concern is with warfarin (Coumadin): coenzyme Q10 may reduce how well warfarin works to prevent clots, and a small number of cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness have been reported.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q10 also has Moderate interactions with chemotherapy drugs that rely on free radicals to kill cancer cells — particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. The antioxidant effect in coenzyme Q10 could theoretically shield tumor cells from these drugs' activity.
There's a Minor interaction with blood pressure medications: because coenzyme Q10 may lower blood pressure on its own, combining it with antihypertensive drugs could theoretically add up and drop your pressure further. Some studies show it does lower blood pressure, though results have been mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Before you start this product, use the search tool below to check your exact prescriptions — especially if you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure drugs.

For each ingredient in Hi-Absorption Co-Q10 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
