The evidence on what this product actually does is limited. Red beet shows possibly effective evidence for athletic performance and exercise-induced muscle soreness, but the data for beet on cholesterol, cognitive function, and lung disease (COPD) is either insufficient or suggests it doesn't work.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Red beet is widely eaten as food and generally well tolerated, but concentrated supplements lack the safety data that whole food does—use caution. The most common side effect is red or dark-colored stools, which is harmless.
Large amounts can theoretically cause low blood calcium and kidney damage (rare). Yellow dock acts as a laxative and contains oxalates; the safety data advise against it in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
Burdock is likely safe as food and for short-term use in healthy adults, though human data are limited; avoid medicinal doses in pregnancy and while nursing. Mullein, chickweed, and nettle are generally well tolerated for short-term use, but human safety data are limited for all three.
Nettle is marked likely unsafe in pregnancy due to traditional concerns about effects on the uterus.

The most serious interaction is yellow dock with diuretic drugs and digoxin, both rated Major: yellow dock can cause potassium loss that diuretics already trigger, and that same potassium depletion can worsen digoxin toxicity. Altogether, these interactions span 1,021 individual medications.

Red beet may increase levels of certain drugs your liver breaks down (CYP3A4 substrates, Moderate severity), and theoretically lower your blood pressure if you're already on blood pressure medication (Minor). Burdock, raspberry leaf, and mullein all carry a Minor to Moderate risk of increased bleeding if you take anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin, aspirin, or apixaban.
Nettle poses Moderate risks with blood sugar drugs (it may lower glucose further), diuretics (additive water-loss effect), lithium (nettle's diuretic action may raise lithium levels), and warfarin (nettle's vitamin K content may counteract it).
Yellow dock also interacts with warfarin at Moderate severity through its laxative effect, which can boost warfarin's blood-thinning action. Chickweed is the only ingredient we checked with no documented interactions.

Red Beet
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that betanin, the major pigment in beet, competitively inhibits CYP3A4 in a dose-dependent manner similarly to strong CYP3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Beet and beetroot contain nitrates, which can cause vasodilation, potentially leading to lower blood pressure. However, a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition using concentrated beetroot juice found no significant impact on blood pressure or heart rate in different age groups. Other small clinical studies suggest that while beet consumption might transiently lower blood pressure due to vessel dilation, there's no consistent evidence of a lasting effect. Overall, the theoretical risk of reduced blood pressure due to beet's nitrate content exists, but studies generally indicate a low and temporary impact rather than a sustained decrease.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that beet induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Nettle
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, stinging nettle might have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Clinical research shows that stinging nettle might decrease blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, combining stinging nettle with diuretic drugs may have additive effects.
Animal research suggests that the above ground parts and roots of stinging nettle may have a diuretic effect.
Lithium
Theoretically, stinging nettle might reduce excretion and increase levels of lithium.
Animal research suggests that stinging nettle has diuretic and natriuretic properties, which could alter the excretion of lithium. The dose of lithium might need to be decreased.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
There is some concern that stinging nettle might decrease the effects of anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin.
Stinging nettle contains a significant amount of vitamin K. When taken in large quantities, this might interfere with the activity of warfarin.
Raspberry
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, taking red raspberry leaf with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro research suggests that red raspberry leaf extract has antiplatelet activity and enhances the in vitro effects of the antiplatelet medication cangrelor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Insulin
Red raspberry leaf might reduce glucose levels in patients being treated with insulin.
In one case report, a 38-year-old patient with gestational diabetes, whose blood glucose was being controlled with medical nutrition therapy and insulin, developed hypoglycemia after consuming two servings of raspberry leaf tea daily for 3 days beginning at 32 weeks' gestation. The patient required an insulin dose reduction. The hypoglycemia was considered to be probably related to use of red raspberry leaf tea.
Burdock
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, taking burdock with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bleeding.
In vitro research shows that lignans from burdock reduce rabbit platelet aggregation by inhibiting platelet activating factor. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Mullein
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Lab tests on extracts from different parts of common and dense-flowered mullein plants show that they do have some blood-thinning effects, as they increase the time it takes for blood to clot. This is likely due to at least one of the known constituents of muellein, triterpenoid saponins. However, the effects appear to be mild and results have been inconsistent. Extracts from different plant parts have been show to have varying anticoagulant strengths, with water-based ones being more potent than alcohol-based extracts.
Yellow Dock
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, yellow dock might increase the risk of digoxin toxicity when used long-term or in large amount.
When yellow dock is used chronically or in large amounts, hypokalemia may occur. This might increase the toxic effects of digoxin.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, yellow dock might increase the risk of hypokalemia when taken with diuretics.
When yellow dock is used chronically or in large amounts, hypokalemia may occur, and overuse of yellow dock might compound diuretic-induced potassium loss.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, the laxative effects of yellow dock might increase the effects of warfarin, including the risk of bleeding.
The anthraquinones in yellow dock have a mild stimulant laxative effect. Consuming excessive amounts can cause diarrhea. Diarrhea can increase the effects of warfarin, increase international normalized ratio (INR), and increase the risk of bleeding.
