Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a compound your cells naturally produce and use for energy and antioxidant protection. The 100 mg dose is delivered in a liposomal form, which uses lipid carriers to help absorption.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients—medium chain triglycerides, calcium carbonate, sunflower lecithin, beeswax, and paprika extract—which serve as delivery and stabilization agents.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
The evidence for CoQ10 varies by condition. It's rated likely effective for CoQ10 deficiency itself.
For fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, congestive heart failure, and diabetic nerve damage, the evidence is rated possibly effective, meaning there's some clinical support but more research is needed. Whether this product will help your particular situation depends on what you're taking it for—that's a good conversation to have with your doctor or pharmacist.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated by most adults when taken as directed. In clinical trials, no serious side effects were reported.
The most common complaints are mild gastrointestinal issues—appetite loss, diarrhea, heartburn, nausea, or vomiting—occurring in less than 1% of people; splitting doses above 100 mg can help minimize these. Headache, dizziness, insomnia, and rarely skin itching or allergic rash have been reported.
There isn't enough reliable safety data in pregnancy, so the caution is to avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied; talk with your doctor before using.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Double-check this product before starting if you take warfarin (a blood thinner)—CoQ10 may reduce its effectiveness. Also check if you're on chemotherapy (especially alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide) or blood pressure medications, where CoQ10 could interfere with how they work.
Run your exact medications through the tool on this page to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 is a reasonable choice if your doctor has identified a CoQ10 deficiency or if you're interested in possibly managing migraine, fibromyalgia, heart failure, or nerve pain—though the evidence is mixed on those last few. The big caution is if you take warfarin or chemotherapy; CoQ10 could interfere with how they work.
Anyone on blood pressure medication should check first too. Have this conversation with your own doctor or pharmacist before you start.

Liposomal CoQ10 100 mg by Dr. Mercola Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Dr.
Mercola's Liposomal CoQ10 100 mg does interact with several types of medications through its single active ingredient, coenzyme Q10. The most serious concern is with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner—CoQ10 may reduce how well warfarin works by mimicking vitamin K's clotting effects, and four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness tied to CoQ10 have been reported.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 may also interfere with certain chemotherapy drugs, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. Because CoQ10 is an antioxidant, it theoretically could shield tumor cells from the oxidative stress these drugs rely on to work.
Blood pressure medications are another consideration—CoQ10 might lower blood pressure further, though study results on this have been mixed.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. If you take warfarin, chemotherapy, or blood pressure medication, run your specific drugs through the interaction checker below before starting this product.

For each ingredient in Liposomal CoQ10 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
CoQ10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
