Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Cedar Bear's Mullein Leaf is a single-ingredient liquid formula: mullein in a proprietary blend. The liquid is made with USP-grade vegetable glycerine and purified water as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for mullein isn't established in our data. We hold insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for bronchitis, asthma, migraine headache, cough, or diarrhea — uses it's sometimes promoted for, but studies haven't been solid enough to confirm whether it actually works for any of these.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Mullein is generally well tolerated for short-term use, though human safety data are limited. A small number of case reports describe dermatitis (a skin reaction) after direct contact with the whole plant or inhalation of plant dust — worth knowing if you handle it occupationally or apply it to skin.
The safety data advise against mullein during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to confirm it's safe in either situation. If you're pregnant, nursing, or planning to be, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it.
Meds to double-check
Minor interactions only
Before you take this, double-check any blood thinners (anticoagulants) or antiplatelet drugs you're on — mullein has mild blood-thinning effects and could add to their impact, raising bleeding risk.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Only minor medication interactions are documented, and safety information is well characterized.
Mullein is generally well tolerated for short-term use but has limited human safety data. The main concern is a Minor interaction with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs — if you take any of those, check your specific medications first.
For any questions about whether it's right for you or how it fits with your health, talk with your doctor or pharmacist.

Mullein Leaf by Cedar Bear Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Cedar Bear's Mullein Leaf has documented interactions through its mullein content, chiefly with blood thinners (anticoagulants) and antiplatelet drugs.
Lab studies of mullein extracts show mild blood-thinning effects — they lengthen clotting time — likely from compounds called triterpenoid saponins naturally present in the plant. The effect is Minor in severity.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 122 individual medications. Because mullein may add to the effects of blood thinners or drugs that prevent clots, combining them could increase your bleeding risk.
If you take warfarin, clopidogrel, aspirin for heart protection, or any other anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, check your exact drugs with the tool on this page before you start mullein.

Mullein
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Lab tests on extracts from different parts of common and dense-flowered mullein plants show that they do have some blood-thinning effects, as they increase the time it takes for blood to clot. This is likely due to at least one of the known constituents of muellein, triterpenoid saponins. However, the effects appear to be mild and results have been inconsistent. Extracts from different plant parts have been show to have varying anticoagulant strengths, with water-based ones being more potent than alcohol-based extracts.
