Nutri-Probiotics+ Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Nutri-Probiotics+ against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Nutri-Probiotics+ by The Professional Series
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Nutri-Probiotics+ contains 8 active ingredients: four are live probiotic bacteria we can verify (B. bifidum, S. thermophilus, B. longum, and L. acidophilus), three we cannot check (L. rhamnosus, S. lactis, and a proprietary blend), and the formula is completed with inactive ingredients — gelatin and silica — which serve as the capsule and flow agent. Probiotics are live microorganisms meant to support your gut flora.
Each of these bacterial strains has its own role, though they're often combined because they work in the same part of your digestive system.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence is mixed. L. acidophilus is marked possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), H. pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
B. bifidum is possibly effective for IBS and respiratory tract infections. The other checked ingredients — S. thermophilus and B. longum — don't have established evidence for the conditions listed in our data; we hold insufficient evidence to rate them.
For L. rhamnosus, S. lactis, and the proprietary blend, we have no effectiveness ratings on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
B. bifidum, S. thermophilus, B. longum, and L. acidophilus are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, if you have a weakened immune system, are severely ill, or have an indwelling catheter, the safety data advises caution — talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
Gastrointestinal side effects like bloating, flatulence, and abdominal discomfort have been reported rarely with some of these strains, though these are uncommon. Rare cases of bacterial infection (bacteremia or sepsis) have been documented, mostly in critically ill or immunocompromised patients.
For S. thermophilus and B. longum, pregnancy is marked possibly safe; for L. acidophilus, pregnancy is also possibly safe. Lactation data are not on file for these ingredients, so talk with your healthcare provider if you're breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Nutri-Probiotics+, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take antibiotic drugs — B. bifidum, B. longum, and L. acidophilus can lose effectiveness when taken at the same time as antibiotics. You'll want to separate them by timing.
If you have a weakened immune system or are seriously ill, that's another reason to clear it with your provider first.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may help if you have IBS or are dealing with antibiotic-related digestive issues, especially with L. acidophilus on board. If you take antibiotics, you'll need to space them apart from this supplement.
Anyone with a compromised immune system, serious illness, or an indwelling catheter should check with their doctor or pharmacist first — the data raises caution in those groups. Run your exact medications through the search tool before you start, and talk it over with your own healthcare provider.

Nutri-Probiotics+ by The Professional Series Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Nutri-Probiotics+ by The Professional Series contains several live-organism probiotics that interact with antibiotic drugs.
The interaction is Moderate in severity: B. bifidum, B. longum, and L. acidophilus may all have their effectiveness reduced when taken at the same time as antibiotics, because the antibiotics can kill off the live organisms in the probiotic preparation.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
The way to manage this is straightforward — separate when you take them. If you're on antibiotics, wait until you've finished your course before starting the probiotic, or talk with your doctor or pharmacist about the right timing for your situation.
We couldn't check three ingredients — L. rhamnosus (listed twice in the formula) and S. lactis — because we don't hold interaction data for them. We also cannot verify the proprietary blend.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Use the medication search tool on this page to check your exact drugs before you start, especially if you take antibiotics or have a weakened immune system.
