Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for pantethine is mixed. It's possibly effective for high lipoprotein levels (hyperlipoproteinemia) — a specific type of blood fat problem.
For athletic performance, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), and a rare neurological condition called PKAN, we don't have enough reliable evidence to say whether it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Pantethine is generally well tolerated in studies, though long-term safety data are limited. The most common side effects are mild gastrointestinal complaints: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, epigastric discomfort, and flatulence.
